Cookies policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what cookies are, which ones are used on claysoftheworld.com and how you can manage them. No non-essential cookies are installed without your prior consent.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file downloaded to your device when you visit certain web pages, which allows information about your browsing to be stored and retrieved. Alongside cookies, equivalent technologies such as local storage may be used where relevant.
2. Types of cookie by purpose
- Strictly necessary. Essential for the site to work and to provide the services requested. They do not require consent.
- Analytics. Used to measure and analyse how the site is used in order to improve it. They require consent.
- Functional. Enable additional features, such as embedded content. They require consent.
- Advertising. Would be used to display personalised advertising. They are not used on this website.
3. Cookies used on this website
This website uses one strictly necessary cookie of its own, to remember your cookie choice, and Google Analytics cookies, which are only installed if you accept them. It does not use advertising or social media cookies, and does not embed third-party content that sets them. The table below must be updated whenever embedded video, maps, booking calendars, pixels or similar tools are added.
| Cookie | Provider | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| cc_cookie | Clays of the World | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie choice so the panel is not shown on every visit. | 6 months |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Analytics | Distinguishes unique users, so a returning visitor is counted once. | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics | Analytics | Keeps the state of the current session. | 2 years |
4. Consent and privacy preferences
On your first visit, a panel lets you accept or reject analytics cookies, or choose by category. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and no analytics cookie is installed until you accept.
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time from the Privacy preferences link at the foot of every page, or with the button below. If you withdraw it, the analytics cookies already installed are deleted.
5. Managing cookies in your browser
You can manage or block cookies from your browser settings. Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge and others offer this option in their privacy section. Disabling certain cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
6. Updates to this policy
This policy may be updated when the cookies used or the applicable rules change. The date of the last revision appears at the top of this page. For more information on how personal data is handled, see the Privacy policy.
